Who we are
Dream Big Travels is an Australian family travel business run by Brad and Nicky Mumford. We specialise in World School Camps — immersive group travel experiences for homeschooling and adventurous families. We operate as an Independent Contractor under EVO Marketing, and all bookings are processed through Archer Travel Service Australia (TIDS: 9686021), a licensed Australian travel entity based in North Sydney, NSW.
When you book with us, you're booking with Dream Big Travels. We're your direct point of contact for everything.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in our terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If you ever feel those rights have been breached, you can contact the ACCC at www.accc.gov.au or Consumer and Business Services SA at www.cbs.sa.gov.au.
Deposits & the 14-day cooling-off period
We require a deposit to hold your spot. For World School Camp group events, this is AUD $50 per person unless your booking proposal says otherwise.
Here's the important part: if you change your mind within 14 days of paying your deposit, you'll get a full refund — no questions asked. This gives you time to confirm flights, sort insurance, and make sure it's the right trip for your family.
After 14 days, your deposit is non-refundable. It covers our planning time, administration, and the cost of holding your place with our suppliers.
Cancellations
We know life happens. Here's how our cancellation schedule works — every charge reflects real costs we've already committed to on your behalf:
Within 14 days of paying your deposit — full refund
After the 14-day cooling-off period — deposit forfeited, nothing more
60–46 days before departure — deposit plus 25% of remaining balance
45–31 days before departure — deposit plus 60% of total booking cost
30–21 days before departure — deposit plus 75% of total booking cost
20 days or fewer — 100% of total booking cost
No-show on the day — 100% of total booking cost
All cancellations must be in writing to hello@dreambigtravels.com.au.
If you're facing serious illness, bereavement, or genuinely exceptional circumstances, please reach out to us directly. We can't guarantee any outcome, but we will always consider your situation on its merits.
You can request an itemised breakdown of any charges at any time — just email us.
Peak seasons & festival periods
During certain high-demand periods — including Cherry Blossom season in Japan, Tet in Vietnam, Eid in Egypt, school holiday cruise sailings, and Christmas and New Year across all destinations — 100% cancellation charges apply regardless of notice. This is because supplier costs during these periods are fully committed and non-recoverable. Your booking confirmation will confirm which periods apply to your trip.
Group travel — what you need to know
Our World School Camps run on a minimum of 8 confirmed paying participants. If numbers drop more than 10% below the contracted group size at any point, we may need to recalculate the per-person cost for remaining participants. We'll always notify you promptly and give you 7 days to accept revised pricing or cancel.
All our prices are set at a minimum of 15% above supplier cost to keep every event financially viable for everyone in the group.
Cruise bookings
When you book a cruise group event with us, the cruise line's own group terms apply — including Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and any other operator. Cruise line terms supersede our standard terms in all matters relating to the cruise itself, including cancellation penalties, which may be stricter than our own.
The Group Leader Credit Program does not apply to cruise group events under any circumstances. This is a cruise line requirement that we cannot waive.
The Group Leader Credit Program
Our Group Leader Credit Program is for homeschool community leaders who share our land-based World School Camp events authentically with their communities — not for cruise events.
Here's how it works:
Credits activate when your group reaches 8 confirmed paying participants
You earn 1 credit per 10 confirmed paying PAX
Credits are capped at a maximum of 2 adult fares — no exceptions
8–9 PAX = 0.5 credit | 10–19 PAX = 1 credit | 20–29 PAX = 1.5 credits | 30+ PAX = 2 credits
Credits apply to land costs only on your own family's booking — not flights, visas, or add-ons
Credits are personal to you and cannot be transferred or converted to cash
Group Leaders are not sales agents, employees, or contractors of Dream Big Travels
A separate Group Leader Agreement must be signed before credits can be activated.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance is essential — not optional. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive cover (including trip cancellation, medical evacuation, and loss of deposits) at the time you pay your deposit so you're protected from day one. We're not liable for losses where adequate insurance hasn't been obtained.
Our duty of care to you
As your travel agent, we commit to warning you of any known risks or safety concerns, disclosing the identity of tour operators and suppliers, informing you of documents required for travel, confirming your reservations, and advising you on travel insurance. These are legally recognised obligations — not just promises.
Questions or complaints?
Email us at hello@dreambigtravels.com.au and we'll respond within 5 business days. If we can't resolve things directly, you can contact the ACCC, Consumer and Business Services SA, or AFTA/ATAS.
This is a plain-language summary only. The full Dream Big Travels Terms of Service govern all bookings.
