Theme: Perspective & Connection
Our Cultural Exchange Day takes families to Da Nang for collaborative activities with local children as they explore their artistic flare.
This program is run by a grass roots charitable organisation offering children from local fishing villages opportunities to come together through art as they meet with children from other countries and cultures.
It is a free program that operates every Sunday. International families who join the activities are asked to donate a small token gift of an art supply item to help keep the program alive and thriving. We ask that all families come prepared with this to offer as a gift to support the program.
After a catered lunch, a local guide leads the journey to the Da Nang Museum where children explore Vietnam’s layered history through exhibits that share about Vietnams formative years as a nation and the many global influences and impacts that have helped shape it into the country it is today.
NOTE* the Da Nang Museum has many exhibits that share about the impacts of war, a few of these exhibits may not be appropriate for children under 10.
Back at the villa parents may opt for a spa experience while the kids play and grow friendships.

After the fun and focused craft activity, children can have fun with a Pizza Pool Party shared at the villa.
Afternoon brings downtime or the optional Coffee Workshop, a sensory treat for older kids and parents alike.

A slower pace today allows families to follow their rhythm—optional activities, beach day (our local guide will share the perfect spot), or simply rest, relax or swim at the Villa.
Late afternoon we gather for An’ Reading at Zen Library (5 pm – 7 pm) for our second cultural exchange where children will meet with local school children with a passion to learn English. Children are encouraged to share stories, read together, and enjoy conversation.
This free program gives local children in Hoi An a chance to strengthen their English-as-a-Second-Language skills through storybooks and friendly conversation with visiting English speakers. It’s led by a dedicated mum who volunteers her time and regularly opens her home several times a week.
For our visit, we’ll hire a private room at the local library to welcome participating families, and we’ll share a light supper while chatting with parents about this wonderful program.
Some snack will be provided at the villa, before a late catered dinner.
